Land Animals
1. Request to (1) Import Neutered Male
Ferrets, Mustela putorius furo, for Medical Training; and (2)
Revise Permit Conditions to Allow Removal of the Quarantined
Neutered Male Ferrets, Mustela putorius furo, to Tripler Army
Medical Center as a Private Veterinary Hospital
Action: Approval to bring in 10 of the
ferrets. Remaining 20 will have be brought before the Board again
because of new information presented at the meeting.
2. Request to 1) Allow the Importation of the
Malaysian Box Turtle (Cuora amboinensis) for Private Use, and
2) Establish Permit Conditions for the Import Under Permit of the
Malaysian Box Turtle for Private Use
Action: Approved
3. Request to 1) Allow the Importation of the
Bell’s Hinged-back Tortoise (Kinixys belliana) for Private
Use, and 2) Establish Permit Conditions for the Import Under Permit
of the Bell’s Hinged-back Tortoise for Private Use
Action: Approved
4. Request to 1) Allow the Importation of the
Desert Tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) for Private Use, and 2)

Microorganisms
5. Request to: (1) Allow the Importation of
Various Bacterial and Fungal Species on the List of Restricted

D. QUALITY ASSURANCE DIVISION
1. Request that the Board of Agriculture relax
the minimum export requirements for papayas, for the period June 22,
2004, through September 19, 2004, to allow export of properly
labeled papayas that do not meet the maturity and soluble solids
requirements of Hawaii No. 1 papaya.
Action: Approved
